HARLEY SHOVEL BY FAIZAL REZA FROM KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA

"From buying the motor from a chopper forum to completion took 3 and a half years. Nothing overly major was done to the bike. I just wanted to make a simple, not so fancy chopper that I can ride to the office. I knew from the start I would like to keep the major parts original/vintage. You won't find many choppers using old harley motor here in my country. So having one parked in my garage right now is quite a proud moment for me."

IRONHEAD KNEELER RACING BIKE

Richard Pouwels and Kim van Loon from the Netherlands form a fascinating Historic Sidecar Racing Team. They have two Classic Ironhead Sidecar Racing Bikes, a "seater" and a "kneeler", both powered by Harley Sportster Ironhead Engines.

Richard and Kim's current "kneeler" Ironhead racing bike, which went through quite a bit of development over the years. The frame was built by Kobus Bouwman. This type of frame is called a "kneeler": to reduce drag the driver actually rides the bike sitting on his knees.

HARLEY DAVIDSON TO SHUT DOWN PRODUCTION

Harley Davidson to shut down Production

NEW YORK -- Harley-Davidson Inc. is considering closing all its motorcycle assembly facilities in Pennsylvania, a company spokesman said Wednesday.

Last month, Harley reported a 78-percent decline in its profit for the first three months of the year. The company's sales have been falling recently as the downturn in consumer confidence and the tighter credit markets have made many consumers skittish about buying its high-end bikes.

Earlier in the year the company was said considering moving production elsewhere as it aimed to lower costs and cope with a sales downturn, it also planned production shutdowns and line rate adjustments at powertrain operations in Menomonee Falls and Wauwatosa, Wis., and at motorcycle assembly operations in York, Pa., and Kansas City, Mo. but the spokesman said the company is working with its union, the Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, as it conducts a review on the facility. He said no other locations is under consideration for a move.
